Behavior Driven Development (BDD) Training in Laval

This instructor-led, live training in Laval begins with a discussion of BDD and how the Behave framework can be used to carry out BDD testing for web applications. Behat is a Behavior Driven Development (BDD) test framework written in PHP. It facilitates communication among developers, testers, business stakeholders and clients during the software development process. Behat allows non-technical people to write clear descriptions of an application's intended behavior, then runs those "scenarios" as functional tests against the application. In this instructor-led, live training, participants will learn how to write and execute BDD style test cases using Behat and PHP. By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

• Run automated tests written in the human-readable, "Given, When, Then" Gherkin language
• Use Behat based test cases to improve collaboration between technical and non-technical teams
• Integrate Behat with Selenium, Mink, Goutte and other browser emulators to drive tests and generate reports
• Extend Behat functionality through its extension system
• Test numerous usage scenarios through terminal commands, REST APIs, and more.

Cucumber is an open-source, BDD framework for writing tests in a natural language style.  BDD, or Behavior Driven Development, is an agile software development technique that encourages collaboration among developers, QA and non-technical business people in a software project. This training begins with a discussion of BDD and how Cucumber is used to carry out BDD testing for web applications. Participants are given ample opportunity to interact with the instructor and peers while implementing the concepts and tactics learned in this hands-on, practice-based lab environment. By the end of this training, participants will have a firm understanding of BDD and Cucumber, as well as the necessary practice and toolset to write their own test cases for real-world software test scenarios. Cucumber.js is a native JavaScript implementation of Cucumber. In this instructor-led, live training, participants will learn how to write and execute BDD (Behavior Driven Devleopment) style test cases using Cucumber and Javascript. By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

• Use Robot Framework's keyword-driven testing approach and tabular test data syntax to write and execute tests.

• Carry out Gherkin-style Behavior Driven Development (BDD) tests (similar to Cucumber).
